Joiさんのテッドトーク(2014) Become a now-ist.

2年くらい前にみたJoiさんのテッドトーク。

当時もかなり影響を受けたけど、いま聞いたらもっと彼の言ってる意味がわかる。

前半は、中国ではイノベーションが起こりうる分野がソフトウェアからハードウェアに変わってきている(当時2014年)ということについて。

中盤は、MITが革新的な技術でイノベーションを起こす実験をしていることと、その成果。

後半が、Joiさんの考えるインターネットが世界に登場して以降の僕たちが指針にするべき考え方について

を話している。

後半の「指針」については、彼の著書(下記)のポイントを手短にまとめたような感じ。

Joiさんは世界のイノベーションの最先端にいながら、イノベーションの末端にいる(最新技術に大きな影響を受けたり、大量の情報が入ってこない立場)ような人にも間近な例を交えて簡単に話してくれる達人なので、仮に普段イノベーションの話を聞いてなくても、かなりわかりやすい内容だと思う。

特に後半については、とてもためになる内容だと思うのでここに軽くまとめておく。

PULL OVER PUSH

“Power of Pull” is the idea of pulling resources from the network as you need them, rather than stocking them in the center and control everything.”

LEARNING OVER EDUCATION

“What you need to learn is how to learn.”

“ education is what people do to you, and learning is what you do to yourself.”

COMPASS OVER MAPS

Instead of come up with the exact plan, you can get whatever you would need as you need them.

“We could not plan the whole thing but having very strong compass we eventually get to where we’re going”

And focus on

- being connected ⚪︎

- always learning ⚪︎

- fully aware ⚪︎

- and super present ⚪︎

“I don’t like the word “futurist”. I thing we should be “now-ist”.”
